The Ridgecrest Ranchos Recreation & Parks District was established in 1972 to manage and maintain certain community property associated with the Ridgecrest Ranchos neighborhood in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. The Park District is a special district organized under California state law and is represented by a five member board of elected community members.

Mission 

The Park District’s primary mission is to maintain the communal property and central street median located at the intersection of Crestridge Road and Crenshaw Boulevard.

Funding 

The Park District is funded by a neighborhood property tax assessment. The District also receives matching funds from various local and county sources.

Oversight 

The Park District does not directly report to any County or State governmental agency. However, its activities are periodically reviewed by the Local Agency Formation Commission for the County of Los Angeles (LAFCO LA County). LAFCO performed its most recent review of the Park District in 2017 and its report can be found below.
